Snail Shell has moved into licensed figures with their take on Rosetta from the “Punishing: Gray Raven” mobile game. I have no familiarity with the game besides having generally heard of it and seen pictures so the review on this centuar cyborg character is purely from the perspective of it as a figure and not how well it does homaging the source material. Check out the video above as well as my written thoughts/gallery below and let me know what you think in the comments. /p>

Presentation: This box is a quality cardboard with a very different type of graphic design being purple-colored with black, tampo-styled writing on the front and info graphics on the back (see gallery below.) I like it quite a bit and can honestly say it’s my favorite box that I’ve gotten from the company. The figure itself and its accessories are nicely-packed inside of plastic clamshells within.

Build: The materials that Snail shell used for this one are pretty standard fare. The plastics are a bit soft, the joints are small and can be considered fragile if you haven’t taken the time to see how they work properly, and the figure in general is relatively frail. These would normally be considered bad things but when it comes to these anime-esque female figures it comes along with them having such small, slender bodies in general. What’s bad about this figure though is how floppy the joints are out of the box. Snail shell has never had the most tight joints to begin with but this figure in particular is plain awful. It’s hard getting her to even stand let alone do any sort of action poses until something like KBN Figure Joint Polish is applied and then you can actually start to enjoy it.

The paint job, color separation, and tampos on this figure are out of this world. The general presentation of the figure is so incredibly good that the quality of the joints is that much more of a letdown.

Not being familiar with the game, I don’t know much about the character itself however from the pictures and videos that I’ve seen it seems as if they’ve given her a relatively “complete” package for both her bipedal and centaur forms. From purely a toy enthusiast’s standpoint though, I love the accessories she comes with. It’s a lot of items but at the same time it feels fitting and not overwhelming. I like that Snell Shell but major focus on having this figure be able to hold her weapons appropriately which has been a problem with past figures of theirs as well.

I also want to give a big shoutout for the work they did with the faces for this figure. Even though they have moveable eyes it truly looks like the eyes are painted on at all times. It’s really something.

Articulation: Rosetta has fanstastic articulation and is engineered extremely well to have said articulation really “work” with her awkward body style and limb proportions. The back, centaur legs once tightened also hold the main body up extremely well for dynamic posing with those attached as well.

Overall Score: ??/10Rosetta is above and beyond the best product that Snail Shell has put out both in terms of aesthetic (which is subjective) and engineering (objective.) The problem is that you do have to manually strengthen the joints to take advantage of the engineering portion. I’m not exaggerating in the slightest when I state that the product was such a floppy mess that it could barely stand on its own and reading a number of other owners having the exact same issue it confirmed that I didn’t receive a “dud.” So, this makes it a hard one to give an official score for since it’s a 3/10 out of the box and then a 12/10 once you fix the joints. Just be aware that this is one that you’ll have to put some work into to get square when you receive it.
