Rounding out Fewture’s take on the Kabuto Trifecta, we take a look a Great Mazinger 1969! It says a LOT that I can still review this mold a third time and have a lot of fun doing it.

To start with this toy shares the same body style as Energer and Mazinger 1969. Designer Taku Sato still works his magic though, giving this it’s own defining head and forearm sculpts, and accenting the body with a GORGEOUS electric blue!

We’ve already discussed the poseability of this body style as well as the overall awesomness of it in the Energer and Mazinger 1969 reviews, but it looks like I forgot to touch on the fact that these toys DO have the Rocket Punch feature in that their forearms are held on by magnets, and thus detachable. A picture of him doing the Rocket Punch attack is included in the “Photos” section of the review!

Rather than trying to describe the accessories, I’m going to list them from the numbered picture below:

1.) Sword

2.) Great Booster

3.) “Breast Burn” alternate chest piece

4.) Open fists

5.) Open hands

6.) “Thunder Break” pointer finger for right hand

7.) Brain Condor

8.) Brain Condor (This one transforms to fit inside of Great Mazinger’s head as a Pileder)

9.) Spiked Knuckles (long)

10.) Spiked Knuckles (short)

11.) Blunted Knuckles

12.) Handle for Giant Sword combination

When you get this guy all loaded up with accessories, it makes for an extremely satisfying display piece. Especially when you combined his and Mazinger 1969’s swords to form the Giant Sword! The weapon definitely isn’t canon, but it’s is utterly fantastic! At 11″ long, it’s also a testament to the joints on this figure that it can hold it with one hand.

It does come with a stand as well. With the Energer and Mazinger reviews, I went for running and flying poses, so the only thing left is…

I can’t say anything that hasn’t already been said between Energer and Mazinger 1969 about this body sculpt. It’s just a fantastically designed piece with an overly-satisfying diecast content and great poseability. Designer Taku Sato did a great job with his re imagination of Great Mazinger just like the others, and this one carries more than enough aesthetic differences to purchases it on top of the other two! And, let’s not forget DAT SWORD!

Overall Score: 9.5/10
