This month Fansproject completed their “Lost Exo Realm” line of Transformers “Dinobots” team homages with Pinchar (“Snarl.”) It definitely feels good to have all of the Dinobot team together and Pinchar as a product itself is a pretty solid offering. Check out the videos above to see it in motion and get a look at a mod that I feel makes it look quite a bit better as well as check out my written thoughts ans galllery below.

Presentation: The packaging is standard for the line in terms of coloring, graphics, and the “seethrough” portion on the front. The piece itself comes in its alt. dinosaur mode and it looks a lot nicers than I had expected in person. The colors are primarily gray, red, and gold which is not only true to the original toy and character but a great fit with the rest of the line. The Gold “spikes” also really pop as well. The robot mode is nice and I love the proportions but I’m not a big fan of the face design. I feel that it really brings down a piece that looks pretty great otherwise.

Build: Pinchar is an all plastic piece and fairly sturdy. It uses ratchet joints throughout most noteably in the shoulders, waist, and hips and they are strong but don’t feel uncomfortable and the spaces in between ratchets are small enough that it doesn’t feel like a huge loss in range of motion like many ratchets on these 3rd-Party Transformers toys do.

Accessories: The accessories are par for the course with the rest of the Lost Exo Realm line with a sword, blaster, and a “Soleron” Targetmaster named Lepin which becomes a larger blade. All of Pinhcar’s accessories are definitely passable but the real star is Lepin who is easily the best of the Solerons released in this line so far in every facet. Even on its own it’s a legitimately fun toy in itself to play with and the weapon mode looks fantastic.

Articulation: The articulation is damned good for this piece considering the style of it with the more “bulky”
appendages. The fact that they went out of their way to even add ab crunch is a big plus. This is easily the best articulated of the LER line and a real standout in this area. A lot of credit has to been given to the parties responsible for the engineering/design.

Overall Score: 7.0/10 – Honestly, this is a very good effort from Fansproject and I really look at it as a culmination q.c.-wise of all of the issues that had been present on the previous releases. Pinchar is obviously it’s a must-have if you have collected the rest of this line for the sake of finishing it off but even as a Classics-scaled Snarl, Pinchar does a really good job of filling that spot. The reason that I’m not rating it higher is that the design of the face in particular isn’t appealing to me on top of really not seeming to match the more anime-esque stylings of the rest of the Lost-Exo-Realm characters. Outside of that, I wish that the spike inside of the foot in robot mode was either higher up or had the ability to retract as it makes it hard if possible at all for the feet to touch the ground in many positions and throws his balance off. also even though the ratchets are well-done, I just plain prefer balljoints, particularly in places like the hips.
