For years I’ve been the first person to write off Revoltech products like a birthday gift from Satan himself mostly due to previous experience with the joint system however I’m very glad to say that the Amazing Yamaguchi 05 Wolverine has not only given me a much better outlook on their products but encouraged me to try out a few more. The video above shows it off in motion along with a few comparisons, while below I’ll share my thoughts and one of my favorite galleries I’ve shot in recent memory. Check it out and let me know what you think in the comments.

You can find a more bigger variety of toys on www.jazzyjoy.com where they supply the trendiest, most innovative gifts, gadgets, sporting accessories and more.

Even though packaging doesn’t have anything to do with the quality of a product, when you look at the box for this one you get a real sense of “effort” from the presentation of it. The layout of the graphics and shots chosen really show that this piece is made of bringing a very artistic looking piece made for more comic-esque posing to your shelf. The Wolverine figure itself is equally excellent in terms of presentation as its sculpt is just magnificent. The revo-joints in the arms blend well and even though there’s a nature gap between the arms and body at the shoulders, the revo-joints there are blue colored to match the shoulder pads and bodysuit color in that area and are fairly easy to hide for a lot of photos. Even outside of a great sculpt, at 5.75″ Wolverine scales well with Marvel Legends and other 6″-scaled toylines in general.

The articulation on this piece is really good, and it took a lot less time to get accustomed to the revo-joints and maneuvering them than I thought. Definitely check out the video to see it in motion and the gallery below to check out some of what I was able to get out of it. I really like the variety of accessories for this piece. The additional faces, extended claws, and hands are all choices that feel like essentials, and even the sand is one I find myself using much more than other toys as it really balances and holds Wolverine well. I really do wish they’d kept the Cigar in one of his hands, though (it was removed for a reason I’m not sure of.) Overall, the accessories are so good that I honestly think I may buy a second to have him displayed differently.

Overall Score: 7.0 out of 10 regular scaling and 9.0 out of 10 for a Revoltech – As stated, I’m not generally fond of Revoltech joints. I think the joint system as a whole is dated and garrish-looking more often than not, however this particular Wolverine figure (and possibly the Amazing Yamaguchi line in general) handles it extremely well. Wolverine looks and poses exceptionally and outside of the shoulders really does a great job at hiding/blending the joints. The sculpt on this Wolverine figure is also the hands-down best I’ve seen without any sort of modifications and/or custom pieces too. I think Marvel toy collectors in general will get a kick out of this but fans of the Capcom Marvel fighting games designs will especially consider this a must-have.
