Storm Collectibles is giving Street Fighter V some decent love with the first of the series, Ryu. Check out the video review above as well as my written thoughts and gallery below. Let me know what you think in the comments as well. There are a few lines for Street Fighter V figures with this and the S.H.Figuarts; which are you going for if any?

Overall Score: 7.0/10 – Storm Collectibles has definitely come out swinging with this Ryu. It’s an extremely nice sculpt and I like the larger scale in that there’s more real estate to see the detailing on it. Where it not only loses out to the Figuarts Ryu but begins to lose me as a collector is the articulation. Even outside of the inevitable Figuarts comparison, I just don’t feel that this piece has the articulation that its price warrants. At over $50, you’re past that import/collectible pricing to where things like two points of neck articulation and decent ankle tilt shouldn’t even be a question. I also wish that the fireball was easier to attach to his hands (I find it difficult to get the fingers into the correct position right away.) Overall, I’d still recommend it to those wanting to begin a SFV collection as the articulation isn’t “bad” and Storm Collectibles is off to a great start in terms of the cast so far (Ryu and Bison have been released at this point with Ken and Zangief on preorder and an Alex prototype shown.) This is the first time since SOTA years back that we’ve gotten a chance for a flush and accurate Street Fighter line, so I’m willing to see if the next release or two have some improvements. I consider this a good/passable start that could’ve been great.
