WHERE TO BUY – Ageless Geeks

Sentinel has released the fourth and latest in it’s Re:Edit Iron Man line with their iteration of War Machine. This is the first line to deviate from the size set by the previous three being almost a half inch taller. The plastic and paint finish have a great feel to them and the joints are tight (watch out rotating the bicep joints for the first time… extremely tight on mine so be careful to avoid a snap.) His battery cover holds on well enough via. friction but i do wish that it would have been a peg-on instead just to be that much more secure. The lights themselves are great and the bright red really plays well off of War Machine’s gray tones of his suit.

While the aesthetic is quite a bit more “bulky” looking than the previous suits, it’s surprisingly just as poseable with its upper torso being light enough to not cause balance issues even. I was especially impressed with just how well War Machine moves around with the backpack attached. From smaller features like moveable hand covers to more significant ones like his hips coming down to add room for forward and back leg swing, this thing is extremely well engineered and you can tell it’s a piece that’s likely actually been play-tested to make sure that the ideas work to perfection.

In terms of accessories, War Machine does come with not only more than the other figures of this line, but I’d argue to say that his are more cool as well. With the forearm optional pieces and gun pack which includes both a missile launcher and rifle attached (and this is on top of the missile pods built into his upper body armor,) he isn’t just bigger than the others, but comes off a lot more imposing as well. These are accessories you WANT to have attached ALL of the time. The hall of armor piece is great to have included, but I do wish that they’d improve on the flight stand add-on because it has yet to be able to sufficiently hold the weight of any of them.

This review does come with a bias in that War Machine is my favorite comic character of all time, and has been since I started reading comic books in junior high. This bias also leads to me having a more critical eye of products made in homage to him, especially comic variants since that’s my preferred style. This piece is so damned good that I literally took certain shots and got goosebumps. Sen-ti-nel has been on absolute fire this year and this War Machine just threw a gallon of gasoline on said fire. I’d honestly give this a 10, but I have a feeling that with Hulk Buster coming out this line is going to keep getting even better.

Overall Score: 9.5/10
