Bandai Tamashii shows toy companies how it’s DONE with their latest D-Arts release: Rockman! An homage to the art styling of the character post-Megaman 8, this is not only a solid toy, but a great bang for your buck, as it comes with some of the most incredible add-ins I’ve seen in a Tamashii release yet.

This toy brings a dead-on likeness to the styling of the character that began with Megaman 8 on Playstation 1 and sega Saturn. A good amount of poseability is there, and the best part is improved joints from the Megaman X figures under the D-Arts line. The M.M.X. line used snap-in connectors for it’s limbs, while this newer Rockman uses standard peg-ins, which alleviates a lot of the issues with the limbs falling off while trying to pose the character. Overall, just a great, solid figure, and a nice scale to M.M.X. too!

Even though this can technically be considered an “accessory” for Rockman, it’s nice enough to deserve it’s own section. A great likeness and even full poseability make this a toy I would have had NO problem forking over the money for by itself!

MeTool, or “Met” for short, is just a fantastic pack-in bonus. There’s no poseability to it at all, but it does feature the ability to take his hardhat off to put on the ground and simulate his “hiding” look from the videogames. Very cool stuff.

Megaman comes with two extra faces, and the options to have either blasters or regular forrearms/hands on either arm. This means he comes with a blaster for each arm, as well as an open hand and closed fist for each side that you choose to have as a regular arm. he also comes with a single blast effect.

At around $40, and getting three, legitimate, full-sized figures and accessories, it’s a steal. The fact that the set is so nicely made is a definite plus as well. I would recommend this toy to fans of multiple areas, from toy collecting to videogame enthusiasts.

Overall Score: 8.5/10
