This is a repaint of the previously released Fansproject Function(x) 03 Smart Robin. This one features a repaint similar to the scheme of the Transformers: Zone character Sonic Bomber (Note: Transformers: Galaxy Force also has a character named Sonic Bomber who features a similar color scheme as well. In the US adaptation, the name was changed to Wing Saber.) These colors go above and beyond in terms of being eye-catching. There darker gray offset by the insanely bright white with red and yellow accents really hit the mark for me.
As a toy, the mold itself is definitely impressive. it’s got a good look and great poseability in Robot mode, while the transformation really impresses with the “mass shifting” between its robot and jet modes. The blaster weapons are simplistic and I love that they integrate so well into the jet mode. The only real gripe I have is that the headmaster isn’t very stable while standing it up in its own robot mode.
An awesome repaint of an awesome toy in general; get it while it’s hot!
