I don’t think there’s a real right or wrong way for a company to come back after a hiatus but Fansproject tying up these loose ends can’t really be looked at as anything wrong. Not only are they finishing toylines that had gaps but releasing characters teased in the comics as well. This time it’s WB011 Constructo Core. The latest Fansproject’s “Warbot” toyline, Constructo Core is a “work body” featured

Presentation:Like Severo Core I’m not a big fan of the box style that they’re going with. The plain cardboard with Black tampoing simply stating the brand and name is a really stark contrast to the previously released Warbot boxes that went to far even as to make a lithograph when the boxes were put together. Regardless the bot is well packed into the plastic clamshell and the paint job which looked what I can only call horrid in the promotional pictures turned out to be very nice in hand. So nice that I’d say it’s the best looking use of this mold yet.

Build: Constructo core is an entirely plastic piece made of strong materials and seems to be properly quality control tested. The only problem that I have is that the paint on mine even five days later as I write this still has a fairly significant smell to it like it’s still taking time to cure. I work with paints quite a bit in terms of customizing and don’t feel that it’s to a degree that it will make me or the average person feel out of sorts but to someone who may have certain allergies or sensitivities it’s definitely something to be aware of.

Accessories: Constructo Core comes with a sprayer and scoop that attach to either arm of choice. Both of these modular pieces have articulation points for extending, retracting, and turning, and the sprayer comes with a hose that connects it to a box that fits on his back under the canopy that pegs into the chest filler that comes with constructo Core as well. If you don’t like the look of the chest filler, you can you the Soleron included which comes in one of five colors at random (blind bagged.) It also comes with the blaster that came with Steel Core and Severo Core but this time with a weathered, rusted deco to match Constructo Core himself.

Articulation: Even though this Steel Core mold released years ago it still holds up with more higher-end toys of today in this area. check out the video review to see it in motion but just to relay some things I feel that this could improve on I’d have added wrist swivel and figured out a way for the elbows and knees to bend past 90 degrees.

Overall Score: 8/10 – Fansproject made me eat my initial words on this one because it looks absolutely killer in hand and I can definitely state that this is the best use of the mold to-date. Constructo Core just plain looks great and shows that the engineering of this mold in general was well ahead of its time. Even with the nice add-ons what keeps this from being a 9-10/10 is the fact that they still haven’t added wrest swivels and also the lack of inclusion of a soleron body type that actually fits inside of Constructo Core’s alt. mode. Regardless, I still feel like they knocked it out with this one and while not perfect it’s damned good.
