This month, Iron Factory stepped things up a notch with releasing their first “City Bot” in Lord Scorpion. This 6″-ish homage to the Transformers character Scorponok really nails it on multiple levels. This piece is more accurate to the IDW comic scaling in comparison to Iron Factory’s other pieces to where it’s bigger, but not the gigantic, city-sized comparison like the G1 Transformers cartoons. Lord Scorpion looks great with the rest of Iron Factory’s offerings and has arguably the best quality of their products to-date. Note: Edgecrusher of TFW2005 informed me that the piece I was confused on is actually an adapter to let him hold 5mm weapons.
Overall Score: 8.0/10 – Iron Factory has established an absolute dominance at the Legends-scale of Transformers homages, and Lord Scorpion is one of those products from them that just seals it. From the quality, to the detail, to the poseability, Lord Scorpion is one of those figures that’s a “must” if you are at all interested in Iron Factory’s products and want to see what they can do. Kudos to them and I’m really looking forward to seeing what their 2017 lineup is going to look like.
