KitzConcept has released the second in their SD (Super-Deformed) line of Robtech/Macross products with the VF-1J. By design, it’s extremely similar to the previously released VF-1S (reviewed in detail here) but with a significantly different devo and head design. The VF-1J’s accessories remain the same with a nice variety of option parts including a smaller head for those who want different proportions than SD style traditionally offers.

Overall Score: 7.0/10 – Being that this is so similar at its core to the previously released VF-1s, the rating is about the same but minor improvements like the newer button on the back of the head to activate the LED are nice to see. This is a quality line of products and I’m looking forward to seeing some of the upcoming items like the armor for these as well.
