MakeToys took the amazing Downbeat a step even further with a Stepper Redeco!

In October of 2017 TFSource revealed an exclusive redeco of MakeToys’ MTRM-09 Downbeat in MTRM-09ST Bounceback. This decor is an homage to the Transformers comic character “Stepper” and captures the look of it very well. Since this is a redeco of the recently reviewed Downbeat with an added targetmaster (A recolor of the one that came with MakeToys’ MTRM-06 Contact Shot) I won’t get too far into detailing it here as the video above and gallery below show off the differences in aesthetic and included accessories.
Accessories: Bounceback omits the speaker accessories of Downbeat in favor of including his Target Master (aptly named “Target Warrior Recoil”) as well as adapters to fit on his shoulder on robot mode as well as on the rear hood of the car in alt. Unfortunately mine has problems with the shoulder adapter being able to attach in a solid manner and that seems to be a widespread problem.
Overall Score: 7.5/10 – Honestly I would have rated Bounceback higher than Downbeat because I really like the included Target Master as well as some better tolerance areas in the mold itself, however the faulty shoulder adapter really brings that down a peg. Overall it’s a solid toy and the deco/colors are perfectly done. It’s a standout piece on any Masterpiece-scaled shelf.
