The video portion here takes a good look at Contact Shot, which is the latests in MakeToys’ Re: Master line. This Masterpiece-scaled homage to the Transformers “Targetmaster” Pointblank has a fantastic look and feel and also good articulation with strong joints making for fun play. The transformation (shown in the video) has some areas that are a bit tricky, but overall it’s a relatively easy process to master and the alt. mode is just spectacular. The Targetmaster (homage to “Peacemaker”) is included as well and while I wish it itself were more articulated, it’s a good looking piece and the weapon mode (blaster) looks good.
Overall Score: 8.0/10 – MakeToys’ Contact shot is a solid piece and a nice addition to their Masterpiece-scaled Re: Master toyline. I really like that they’re doing characters like Headmasers and Targetmasters because they’re different and don’t seem like something that even Takara is going to go for anytime soon. It’s never a fun feeling to have bought one of these and shortly thereafter an official is announced so it’s nice to have pieces like these on multiple levels. MakeToys has an awesome designer or design team behind this line with a great sense of style and engineering and Contact Shot is another tribute to that. Looking forward to seeing what’s next.
