Sen-ti-nel has added the latest to their RE:Edit Iron Man series with the Red x Gold (Red and Gold) Armor. This one is actually a convention exclusive repaint of the upcoming Black and Gold Armor. In terms of look, this is my favorite suit of this line so far under Hulkbuster. However, being a bit lacking in terms of poseability and having a number of quality issues (paint chips and a piece on the shoulder having fallen off; covered in the video) really put a damper on a piece that I felt should have been out-of-this-world fantastic.
Overall Score: N/A – I’m reserving final judgement on this for when I get the replacement from Sen-ti-nel as this could be a one-off and will update, however at the moment I can’t recommend this one. It’s a fantastic piece, but issues like the paint chipping and that piece on the shoulder blade just randomly falling off are really indicative of some pretty broad quality issues and this is way too expensive of a line to gamble with that kind of stuff. One thing that I forgot to cover in the video is that the hands were originally very loose on the wrist joints and would fall off (polishing the male joint on the wrist fixed it.) This has unfortunately really brought down my enthusiasm for the Black and Gold which is on its way as I type this. I’ll definitely be doing an update video as well as revising this article once the replacement comes in.
