Bandai Tamashii gives us another fantastic toy of a mecha from the “Brave” collection of animes with Super Robot Chogokin J-Decker. Even though Brave Police isn’t the most popular of the Brave collection, it’s great to see the same appreciation given to this toy as the others from more popular series.

Video Segments:
The Box: Beginning
J-Decker: 1:12

Out of the box, I was very impressed with the likeness of this one. It legitimately looks like the cartoon is brought to life straight from your television screen. at 6.25″, it’s also a VERY nice size for a Super Robot Chogokin toy. The diecast throughout the legs also give it a very satisfying “heft”.
In terms of poseability, he takes most of his engineering cues from Super Robot Chogokin’s Might Gaine which is fantastic, since I think Might Gaine is the best S.R.C. ever made. double joints throughout, as well as extensions in the abdominal and ankle areas really let you put him into some great poses while feeling stable.

Rather than trying to describe the accessories, I’m going to list them from the numbered picture below:
1.) Wing Pack.
2.) Baton.
3.) Blaster in “sawed off” form.
4.) Blaster in full form.
5.) Open fists for holding guns.
6.) Open hands.
7.) Open fists for holding Baton.
8.) Clip for Tamashii stand support.
9.) Pointing hand for left side.

The wing pack adds a great presence to the figure just like it did in the anime. the poseable wings are nice in that they let you keep full range of arm movement while being attached.

The clip for the Tamashii stands also clips in tight and in a well balanced area to help the stand itself provide the best support possible:

Unfortunately, since Brave Police isn’t a very popular series, I see him suffering the same fate as Super Robot Chogokin Might Gaine: Massive mark downs and clearancing. However, I hope that, like Might Gaine, people eventually give this guy a chance even at a discount, because it’s a really fantastic figure.
Overall Score: 8.0/10
