Fansproject comes in strong with these remolds of their original homages to the G1 Insecticon trio made to homage the non-show Deluxe Insecticons Chop Shop, Barrage, and Ransack! These figures are a blast, and I’m really glad to share my thoughts with you all. So, let’s get started.

The muscles of the group, this one’s an homage to Deluxe Insecticon Chop Shop and a remold of Fansproject’s Thundershred figure. Although it’s more of a stocky figure, it’s features a good amount of articulation and great balancing.

The alt. mode is nice, and the alternate pinchers from the Thundershred does wonders for making it shine as a “new” character.

This one is a remold of Storm Bomb and an homage to Deluxe Insecticon Barrage, and much like the original Fansproject Insecticons, I find this mold to be the least appealing. However, I will say that the colors and headsculpt on this blow Storm Bomb out of the water. It’s poseability is also nice, and I especially love the ball-jointed waist which lets him ab crunch!

Like Blockade, this one also comes with an alternate pincher piece for the Storm Bomb to better homage Barrage in it’s insect mode. Overall, even thought this one’s my least favorite, it’s still a nice figure.

The last bot of this trio is a remold of Fansproject’s Backfiery and homage to Deluxe Insecticon Ransack. A vibrant color scheme of deep black, red, and an orange-yellow are top of by translucent neon-orange wings!

His alt. mode features no differences from the original Backfiery figure, but the original Ransack toy’s alt. mode is a dead ringer for it. What’s nice is that the small pegs in the legs of this mold were not removed, and can act as a storage for one of the weapons that comes with this toy. Unfortunately, the legs are at such an angle that the gun actually looks awkward stored this way.

The fact that this set is an homage to an obscure, non-G1 set may be a turn off to some, but these are absolutely fantastic toys, and I would recommend them to anyone. At around $150 for all three, it’s definitely not a bad price, either.

Overall Score: 8.5/10
