Fansproject took as all by surprise when announcing their Lost Exo Realm series of Dinobot homages! They took us by an even bigger surprise when they had an exclusive version of the first release at TFCon Toronto this year!
Straightforward overview: Not divided into segments!
Fansproject had a very quick transition between the announcement of the LER series, and the release of LER-01 Columpio, which is an homage to Transformers Dinobot Sludge. As a convention exclusive variant, this release replaces the regular colored plastic with chroming and the Target Master with Drepan: A throwback to the Diaclone pilots of old. A cool feature about Drepan is the strong magnets in his feet.
This toy features great aesthetics and poseability in both robot and dino. modes, as well as a relatively simple transformation. Its double-jointed elbows are topped off by double jointed, ratcheting knees as well. I do wish that it had wrist swivels in order to get more fun poses holding the sword and rifle that he comes with. Speaking of weapons, he does have great storage points on his shoulders (hips in dino. mode) for them.
A lot of people were wondering what Fansproject had in store during their recently period of silence, and Fansproject showed that they have a lot of great things up their sleeve yet to come. Another thing I’d like to touch on is the shortened time between reveals and release dates now. I personally love it and wish that more companies would start doing it.
