The journey to a completed Feral Rex is upon us!

Straightforward video: Not divided into segments!

WHERE TO BUY – The Chosen Prime
Starting with Tigris, the quality is impeccable. At almost 7″ tall, it definitely fits the same heights as the rest of the team, which makes for a really congruent “look” when you have them all together. The consistency of things like colors, paint apps., and plastic quality between the team is expected but even small things like similar transformations of the leg areas for each of these bots to make it more consistent and easier for the user is just above and beyond. The “ninja” motif that this piece exudes is also just amazing.
Speaking consistency, I have to say that the thing I’m probably the most impressed with about this group as a whole is the fact that they all seem to have an equal level of “care” put into their overall designs. Even though everyone will have their favorites (Mine is Leo Dux, personally), I think that everyone can agree that none of these looks like something that’s just a “throwaway” or piece that you’d just buy for the sake of having the whole group together! That especially makes wait times between these more easy to bare, because you don’t feel like you’re getting a few “mehs” before the one that you’re really anticipating out of the group releases.
Getting Tigris into arm-mode and competing Feral Rex was an easy-but-satisfying process, however I admittedly had problems posing and balancing him. Thanks to Lazy Aza’s video review HERE, I was able to begin posing him and balancing him for more dynamic shots with general ease. At towards 13″ tall and being a very solid piece, this isn’t something I really wanted to risk dropping or having fall over too often. I suggest everyone else watch Lazy’s video as well, because there are a lot of nice tips in there for making sure your Feral Rex is set up correctly in the first place as well.
With Rex, there’s not too much more that you can ask for. Although I do wish that posing him wasn’t something I had to “master”, I absolutely adore having this piece on my shelf. Everything about the design is “epic” and “imposing”, and his enormous “Oppenheimer” seriously measures longer than the height of most Classics Voyager-Classed Transformers toys. Overall the design of Feral Rex gives their homage to Predaking a very “Royal” feel.
There’s no such thing as perfect, but Feral Rex seems to be about as good as it gets in terms of both the individual robots and combined modes on this project. It’s also been a long process as well, so I cannot even imagine what they, as a company who’s still constantly improving, will bring with their next combiner team using what they’ve learned from this experience. Well done.
Overall Score: 9.5/10
