It’s time to see if the hype is justified in today’s review of Figma Link! After reviewing, I definitely have to say that I see the light. The figure brings a great likeness to it’s namesake with great poseability and accessories to the table.

The accuracy is dead on. The teenage/young adult Link looks like game art walking straight from a piece of paper onto your shelf. Not only is the sculpting just incredible, but even the hues of every piece of this are perfection. It’s easy to catch yourself just admiring the likeness of it rather than even playing around with the thing. That quality makes it such a fantastic display piece.

The poseability is another winner with this. At first I was miffed that they gave his torso swivel to the chest area rather than where the waste meets the hips, but I found that it helps with balancing him when he has his sword/shield attached to his back (more on this in the accessories section). Overall, he brings a lot of options to the table with his articulation, and a good amount of stability to boot!

Firstly, it comes with a good variety of hands. I love that it not only comes with open grips to hold the sword and sheild in each hand, but also angled ones to hold the sword straight-forward. It works really great with both holding the sword up AND slashing motions. Speaking of slashing motions, it also comes with an effect piece that slides over the blade of the sword to look like a “swooshing” motion. I much prefer this to figures coming with multiple swords or blades to simulate movement. It’s the first time I’ve seen it implemented this way, and I hope to see it becoming a standard.

So, it comes with his sword, but it also comes with a sheath for that sword as well as his shield. I love that the sword goes all the way into the sheath as opposed to having a separate “part” of a sword to go into a faux sheath. Both the sheath and sword are able to holster on his back as well.

Simply put: This figure comes with NO pointless or wasteful accessories. It feels like every bit of plastic poured into the molding for this toy serves a purpose… and it’s a wonderful feeling.

A hit from every angle as a toy, and a must-have for so many different types of collectors. Whether your a gaming enthusiast, a Zelda nut, or just a fan of great figures: This belongs on your shelf. With news that American retailers are not at ALL getting this, do yourself a favor and go to AmiAmi and order this while it’s still in stock and fairly priced.

Overall Score: 9.5/10
