Having reviews Takara’s Masterpiece King Exkizer and Dragon Kizer, I was just stoked to review their combined form in the Great Ekizer! This combination not only provides a fantastic homage in it’s show accuracy, but is a damned great toy to have on your shelf!

The combination process of these two is complex, but something that becomes extremely simplistic after going through it even once. In fact, the second time I did it, I didn’t even need instructions. Throughout the entire process, you definitely see things coming to fruition, and there’s not one moment that feels like wasted movement or time.
This toy looks phenomenal. Absolutely. Flippin’. Phenomenal. At 11″ tall, and an extremely broad shoulder span, this figure is the epitome of imposing. A great homage to the cartoon, and just an awesome centerpiece on a shelf, this combined mode truly makes Masterpiece King Kizer and Dragon Kizer something that you HAVE to buy as a set. As great as they are, the presence that Great Exkizer has completely overshadows them as separate entities.
The articulation of this piece is pretty much spot on with King Exkizer’s, since that acts as the core with Dragon Kizer making up an armor of sorts for him. The means that it retails King Kizer’s lack of waist and thigh swivel. However, the lack of thigh swivel is offset a bit by the ankle tilt that comes from Dragon Kizer’s legs being used as the lower legs of this piece. I love that the articulation of these two helps to balance out the flaws when put together!
The accessories for the combined mode all come with Dragon Kizer. They include the Giant sword (measuring at SIXTEEN INCHES!), and two hands which have angled wrists so that he can hold his blade with both hands as shown in the previous picture. He also has the ability to hold the sword of King Kizer and Dragon Kizer’s bow, but there’s no gray hand included for him to hold his arrow to the bow ala Dragon Kizer:
This toy is just amazing, and one of the nicest pieces on my shelf. As said above: If you buy one of these, by both. Do not rob yourself of the opportunity to complete this amazing homage to a very well-done series!
