Iron Factory continues to just plain submit their standing as the “midget kings” with IF EX-29 Rush Beats. This homage to Jazz is a retool of the previous Bolt Runner (Sideswipe) mold and really does a great job of truly having its own look and feel. Check out this article with my thoughts on it and let me know what you think in the comments!

Presentation: The box for Rush Beats is a very appropriate, smaller size similar to their individual seeker releases. The design/graphics on it are par for the course as well. Overall it’s sturdy and the product is well packaged in its bot mode into the plastic clamshell.

Build: Rush Beats is an entirely plastic piece per the theme of the entire Iron Factory toyline. Iron Factory has continued to do a fantastic job of pretty much eradicating previous issues with poor joint fitment and this is an honest treat to play with. Everything works and fits well but I will say that the first time I pegged the fenders into the hood for alt. mode transformation it was very tight, but has been fine since then. I’m assuming it may have been the thickness of paint on the speaker area that encompasses the female end.

Accessories: Rush Beats is pretty bare bones in terms of only coming with a blaster. The blaster is nice and has storage for both modes but personally I would have included another head with an alternate facial expression.

Articulation: Mine wrist swivels, Rush Beats has about everything I could ask for in terms of articulation even at a larger scale. It’s an expressive piece and I’m glad that it has nice, smooth joints making it fun to pose and transform again and again and again.

Overall Score: 8.0/10While I would have loved an additional face wrist swivel to have been added, Rush Beats is a fantastic retool of the Bolt Runner mold. Iron Factory just plain seems to “get it” and with 4 more releases scheduled before the end of this year I don’t think that there’s a company out there that’s doing what they do at the pace they’re doing it at.
