Ocular Max continues to make leaps and bounds in terms of quality and ease-of-use in their Masterpiece-scaled “Perfection Series” with the limited edition PS-04s Stealth Azalea. Making its sales debut at TFCon Chicago 2018 and later sold in limited quantities on Planet Steel Express, this was a surprise announcement during the convention itself and definitely delivered. Check out the video above as well as my thoughts and gallery below.

Presentation: The box for this is perfection. Featuring a design but CHOGOKING and photography by HARDRETURN this one really pops with the E-hobby styling and being such a small, concise size while keeping the product completely protected. It just hits the mark on all levels and the product is packaged in vehicle mode very well inside.

Build: Stealth Azalea Is a primarily plastic piece with diecast throughout the lower calves and feet giving her a surprisingly heft feel for her size. The finish is a nice, gloss finish and both plastic and diecast have a really solid, sturdy feel. The paint applications on my copy are done perfectly as well. In terms of play, everything really moves smoothly with 0 issues of things being too tight although as stated in the video the ankles on mine have gotten more loose in the limited play time its had since purchase mid-October.

Accessories: Shown in both the video and gallery, Stealth Azalea comes with a nice variety of hands and faces on top of her two blasters. The amount of expression you can get with this piece is above and beyond. I do wish that there was a bit more proper weapon storage in robot mode, however.

Articulation: Minus articulated hands (which wouldn’t even make sense to attempt on an advanced basis with her hand size,) Stealth Azalea just knocks this area out of the partk. Double joints and ab crunch galore topped on with the variety of faces and pre-posed hands really make this figure expressive. Buttery smooth joints really make it a treat to play with two. I’d argue that she’s a nice size for a “deskbot” in fact.

Overall Score: 7.5/10 – I really think Ocular Max did a bang up job with this one all-around and their constant strives for improvement shows with every release. I’m well out of collecting Masterpiece-scaled Transformers stuff but Stealth Azalea is so nice looking and fun that I’m actually pretty excited to check out the regular (pink) colored Azalea as well. It’s not perfect but I think it makes a definite stake for a definitive Aecee figure at this scale.
