ThreeA flexes its guns with this large-scaled Bumblebee homaging his appearance in the movie “Transformers: The Last Knight.” At 15 inches this boasts an impressive size with an equally impressive amount of detailing while being one of the most awe-striking pieces of Transformers merchandise that I’ve gotten the opportunity to play with. Check out the video above to see it in motion while I share my breakdown and gallery for this piece below and let me know what you think in the comments!

Presentation: Both the Bumblebee and Premium-Scaled Optimus is Received came in large , styrofoam boxes with laminated sleeves that fold around the boxes and velcros together at the ends to hold it all closed without any sort of annoying actual “lock.” The figures and their accessories are all well-packed inside of the styrofoam via separate, properly-shaped insert areas for each piece. What’s nice is that certain parts of these figures that could potentially break come disassembled to avoid this (and don’t worry, it’s just pieces that peg in or pop on via balljoint.)

Build: This Bumblebee is an all plastic piece which I was surprised to come out of this experience preferring. The joints are nice, strong ratchets that aren’t tight to the point where it’s intimidating to play with and without the diecast “hindrance” it can be big, bulky, and hefty without limbs that wear on the joints and weapons that are potentially too heavy to hold. This thing is amazing in terms of engineering and execution. I can say that it legitimately feels and plays as good as it looks.

Something also has to be said for the LEDs on this thing; it has two sets of LEDs each using two, LR44 batteries to light up the eyes and headlights on the chest. each of these sets of lights are so bright that this figure can legitimately be used as a flashlight and the color of the chest lights properly emulate the LED-styled headlights used on actual vehicles. Truly beautiful./p>

Accessories: Bumblebee has his battle mask, hammer, and adapter pieces to attach the hammer to Bee’s hand and store on its back.

The Deluxe/Exclusive Version comes with the additional arm blaster which is well worth the $20 price difference. There’s a locking system that attaches and detaches the arm at the forearm and the blaster attaches the same way. It looks incredible and the LED on it is insanely big and bright. It’s a “show off” piece for sure and I’m not going to lie if I were to ever show off my collection or something I’d definitely have Bumblebee posed with this attached.

Articulation: The articulation on this piece was a pure and utter surprise because even with all of the fine detailing which is enough to sell a figure at this large scale to a lot of people they still managed to engineer a very high level of articulation into this piece. The nicest part about both this and the Optimus release are that their joints are so well “hidden” aesthetically that they could be put into about any pose and be passed off as statues.

Overall Score: 10/10 – ThreeA really knocked these out of the park and after coming from playing with their Dark of The Moon Optimus Prime and leaving not as impressed years back I can say that I’m a pretty big fan of what they have going on now. I’ve always said that I believe the Transformers movie designs are best represented in non-transforming pieces due to the amount of details that the robot modes contain and this Bumblebee only furthers this opinion. It’s easily one of the best Transformers products I’ve ever played with let alone owned so yes; strong recommendation and definitely get the deluxe edition because the blaster is too darned awesome.
