Bandai Tamashii bring us another one of their D-Arts Megaman X figures with Black Zero. A real treat to look at: This recolor of their previous “version 2” of Zero is a must-have!

To give a brief background, the black version of Zero’s armor is an upgrade for Zero in the Megman X4 through Megaman X8 games. There was also a “fake” Zero in Megman X2 wearing black armor (with slight differences like a red emblem on the helmet) that appeared during the last stage if certain requirements were met throughout the game.
Out of the box, the thing that stands out most would have to be the color selection. The clear greens and “right” shade of gold really work well with each other.

Bandai definitely didn’t skip a beat with detailing this one. Even the copper tone that they chose from the hilt of the sword is great.

Here are a few pictures showing off the differences between it and the original Zero version 2. I like that the gloss and flat finished plastics aren’t the same between the two, adding even more offset to their looks.

The accessories are standard fare as they’re pretty much the same as the original Zero version 2.

There’s an addition face that has a different style of eyes with one being closed.

The quick method of changing the faces out remains the same.

Overall, I wish that it would have came with something like an additional “blast” piece to be shared between he and Megaman X, but I’m satisfied with the accessories it did come with.

Bandai added another good addition to this line with Black Zero. My hope is, now that they’ve given us multiple renditions of both X and Zero, that they begin to move onto Robot Masters (Villains/Stage bosses)!
Overall Score: 8.0/10
