Time to take a look at Fatal Fury’s Terry Bogard from Bandai Tamahii’s D-Arts Line! It’s a figure with quite a bit of potential brought down by some minor nuances that become a bigger problem in terms of his poseability.

I do enjoy the aesthetic of this figure, but unfortunately, it’s not very accurate in the face. it features a much more “kiddy” styled anime face, which is more similar to something from Dragon Ball than the more realistic and gritty features that SNK used for the Fatal Fury characters. It’s very nice, and the clothing and proportions are DEAD on, but I wish that the face in-particular was more accurate.

Accessories are something that this particular toy excels with. Featuring a good assortment of hands (even ones that let him hold the tip of his cap!), faces, and effect parts, you can do quite a bit with him in terms of displaying some neat special moves from the video game! A piece that inserts into the back of his jeans for a tamashi stand to peg into and add balance:

The real bummer about this figure is the poseability. With no real swivel in the bicep or thigh area, you’re left at a loss in terms of arm posing and even balancing. The jeans also push the feet downards, making the figure lean backwards and wanting to fall. All hope isn’t entirely lost for posing the figure, but it’s way too much of a struggle to get him into even the poses you can.

Overall, it’s great to see Fatal Fury’s characters start to get recognition from more well-known toy makers, and when I saw that Bandai Tamashii would be the ones jumping on it, I was very excited, which made me extra disappointed when I saw a lack of poseability that’s standard throughout every tamshii figure I own, from Figuarts to Chogokins! On top of that, the face, although really nice, is just not accurate. This simply is not a toy I would recommend.

Over Score: 6.5/10
